Nagging Moms Have Children who Grow Up to Be More Successful

A new study shows that nagging moms who push and set high standards for their daughters end up with more successful children than those who don’t.

If we go back and remember our childhoods, we will find that most of the time, we succeeded in doing what we believed was more convenient for us, even when this was against our parents’ will.

But no matter how hard we tried to avoid our parents’ recommendations, it is likely that they ended up influencing, in a more subtle manner, choices that we had considered extremely personal.

Presented at the conference of the Royal Economic Society, researchers found that children who were raised by parents who constantly nagged them about getting a college degree were less likely to become unemployed or turn into teenage mothers.

Yr astudiaeth, from the University of Essex, involved gathering data from schoolgirls aged 13 i 14 from a database of 15,500 students. It showed that a parent’s high expectations could reduce their teenager’s chances of becoming pregnant by 4% o gymharu â'r rhai sydd â dim ond "dyheadau ganolig."

“Beth a ddisgwylir am ddewisiadau ysgol rhieni oedd, debygol iawn, un o brif benderfynyddion wneud penderfyniadau mewn perthynas â beichiogi plentyn neu beidio yn ystod ein blynyddoedd yr arddegau,"Ychwanegodd Rascon-Ramirez, y pennaeth ymchwilydd.

Mae hefyd yn dangos bod mamau yn ymddangos i fod y "prif rhiant" a nagged eu plant mwyaf.

"Mae'r mesur o ddisgwyliadau yn yr astudiaeth hon yn adlewyrchu cyfuniad o ddyheadau a chredoau am y tebygolrwydd o fynychu addysg uwch a adroddwyd gan y prif riant, pwy, yn y mwyafrif o achosion,, yn fam,"Meddai yr astudiaeth.

felly…

Gyntaf ac yn bennaf, Nag ar Mom, Nag ar!

Yn ail, mae angen i ni fod yn ymwybodol y bydd ein geiriau a'r hyn rydym yn ceisio feithrin yn ein plant bob amser fod y tu mewn ohonynt bob amser, faint bynnag o rebel eu bod yn.

ac yn drydydd, gyda chwaraewyr fel Hillary Clinton a Angela Merkel (Ganghellor yr Almaen), women are taking a much more powerful position in our future society. We need to continue to instill the greatness that lies in all of our daughters for them to reach their utmost potential.
